A Message from Dan Sullivan

Dan Sullivan

Dear Friends,

There is not one of us who came away unscathed from the tragedy of 9-11. We were all touched either directly or indirectly by the loss of life and ruin of an iconic landmark that served as the front door to our country for many who came to the United States from across the ocean. Here it is nearly 10 years later, and our country’s landscape, and our own sense of pride have been forever changed.

In the years since those events occurred, we as American citizens have had very few opportunities to help restore what we lost. We now have a chance to contribute to memorializing the sacrifice that was made, and we would like to ask you to help, too, with a pledge to help us in our mission. The board of Tourism Cares, the tourism industry’s largest philanthropic organization dedicated to preservation, restoration and education, has pledged to raise $150,000 for the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center. The Museum, currently being built at Ground Zero in New York City, is designed to honor the victims of the attacks and all of those who risked their lives to save others. It will also further recognize the thousands who survived and all who demonstrated extraordinary compassion in the aftermath.

Tourism Cares is committed to restoring a place in history for this iconic site, and has pledged to raise the necessary funds from the travel and tourism industry to underwrite the costs of a display that will house the last original Minoru Yamasaki scale model of the World Trade Center as it was envisioned by its architects in the 1960s. The display will be installed as a permanent component of the primary exhibit. Built at a scale of 1:200 and measuring eight by ten feet at the base, and replicas of the towers over seven feet high, this artifact demonstrates the sheer size and mass of the original World Trade Center site. Please support by contributing to one or more of our dedicated fundraisers who have taken on the challenge in their own way.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.

Get free downloads for Internet Explorer 7, including recommended updates as they become available. To download Internet Explorer 7 in the language of your choice, please visit the Internet Explorer 7 worldwide page.
