Does TourTools Support Multiple Currencies?
Although TourTools supports vendor payments in most foreign currencies, TourTools currently only prices/sells tours in US and Canadian Dollars (USD/CAD).
Does TourTools support FIT as well as Group Travel?
TourTools does have limited support for FIT, but is primarily geared towards preformed group travel. Ask us for more details on this!
Does TourTools integrate with QuickBooks?
Yes. We offer an optional QuickBooks module for our clients that use QuickBooks (desktop or online). This is a popular feature because it eliminates redundancy in data entry and streamlines your accounting workflow.
How long does it take to deploy a new TourTools system?
The time required for deployment varies depending on the options you select and several other variables. A typical deployment of TourTools Back Office can be completed in 2-4 weeks (4-6 weeks if TourTools Online is included).
Can we import the data from our current system?
Yes. During the discovery phase, we will look at your current system and determine what will be involved in exporting/importing your data and identify the specific data you are interested in transferring into TourTools.
Which payment gateways does TourTools support?
TourTools now offers its own integrated payment technology – we are excited to offer huge savings to our customers (on transaction fees as well as subscriptions fees) who take advantage of the new TourTools payment gateway. TourTools also has built-in support for Authorize.net, Elavon Converge, and PayPal PayFlow Pro. If you want to use a different payment gateway, we will provide an estimate on what it would cost to integrate with it.
Is TourTools a web application?
No. The TourTools back office system runs in FileMaker (Claris). It requires installation of FileMaker Server application on your server (Windows) and FileMaker Pro Advanced application on your client (Mac or PC) computers. TourTools Online does add a web component to your system, allowing your customers to book tours and make payments from your website.
Can we host the TourTools application on a cloud server?
Yes. TourTools can be hosted on a cloud server. Although using a local server or accessing TourTools in a terminal environment with a cloud server still provides peak performance, we’ve optimized TourTools for effective use on a cloud server and have a number of clients functioning this way. We don’t have an IT department or staff - do you offer plans that include a hosting server?
Yes. We offer hosting plans that start at $250/month and include server maintenance. For an additional cost, we also provide basic IT support to our clients who need it. If you are not on a TourTools priority support plan, our IT services are available at a reasonable hourly rate.

TourTools Back Office starts at $250/month making it the most comprehensive back office solution at a very affordable price. See our pricing page for more details.
Do we need to purchase FileMaker (Claris) separately?
We do offer hosting packages that include FileMaker licensing but, apart from that, you will need to purchase your FileMaker licensing separately. We can assist/advise you in determining what will be needed.
Is support and maintenance included?
Yes. We offer a wide range of priority support plans to our clients and an Economy Class support plan is included with a subscription to TourTools Back Office. If you subscribe to TourTools Back Office + TourTools Online, a Business Class support plan is included. For clients who purchase TourTools outright as opposed to subscribing, priority support and maintenance plans can be purchased additionally starting at $475/month (discounted if paid annually).
Are there additional setup and deployment costs?
Yes. We will send you a questionnaire about your business and technology details – setup costs vary depending on many factors and the specifics of your requirements. Once we receive your responses to our questionnaire, we will provide an estimate for your total setup costs. We charge a discounted rate of $95/hour for setup tasks and data import.
Will training be provided?
Yes, we offer training through a variety of means including remote screen sharing sessions, a training video library, and a detailed online user guide.
Can my TourTools and TourTools Online system be customized?
Yes. We offer the most customizable back office and online solution in the industry. Our expert developers will work closely with you to develop any feature, report, or new 3rd party app integration that you require. We recognize that all operators are not alike – we work with you to customize your TourTools system to fit your workflow like a glove.
What is your hourly rate for development, support, and customizations?
Depending on your subscription and the support plan you are on, our hourly rates range from $145 – $165 per hour. For clients not on a support plan, we offer prepaid support at $180/hour. We charge a discounted rate of $95/hour during deployment only (for additional integrations and customizations).
When will TourTools version 5 be released and what new features will be included?
TourTools v5 Back Office will have many exciting new features including integrations with DocuSign and MailChimp, it will feature the new integrated TourTools Payment Gateway, optimized workflows and underlying technology/techniques, a more robust implementation of TourTools online, enhanced QuickBooks integration, and a cleaner more intuitive interface. TourTools v5 Back Office will be released July 4, 2022. Existing customers will receive discounted upgrade pricing. License upgrades are included with our premium TourTools Support Plans, contact us for more details.
